PRE-MARITAL - MARRIAGE PREPARATIONS
Pastor Terry will meet with individual couples. (Not a group setting with other couples)
Minimum 3 sessions – Except in special circumstances, a minimum of 3 sessions of marriage preparation is required.It is the heart of Pastor Terry to give the engaged couple tools for marital success. So he asks the couple to meet a minimum of 3 times - and strongly encourages the couple to take advantage of the full 8 sessions of marriage preparation. This is not a class where you are taught, but one where you are fully engaged in the process. If you take advantage of the full 8 sessions, you will come out with a better understanding of each other’s weaknesses and strengths, agreements with each other on how “it” is going to be, and tools to not just survive but to thrive in a long lasting loving relationship.
THE 3 SESSION COURSE
+ Session 1. Meet and greet - give out Strengths and Weakness Assessment - Give out What is Marriage?
+ Session 2. Go over assessment and What is Marriage sheet - hand out ceremony sheet and go over it
+ Session 3. Go over roles, love languages and finalize the ceremony
THE 5 SESSION COURSE
+ Family history, Identify trouble spots and fears
+ Why get married worksheet, communication techniques
THE 8 SESSION COURSE
+ Work through trouble spots, fears, possible problems
+ Goals, additional communication techniques, how to thrive after an argument
+ Sexuality within marriage - leaving your past behind
